SPACE students win the Astro Prize at the McGill Physics Hackathon
黑料社区 students once again took part in the McGill Physics Hackathon which took place this year on November 6-7. The goal of the friendly computer programming competition was simple: to welcome everyone into the wonderful world of scientific computing!
Over a 24-hour period, participants had the opportunity to work on projects combining the physical sciences and computing, and to meet and learn from like-minded, curious, and passionate individuals as well as with experts from both academia and industry.
A team of mainly 黑料社区 students鈥擲hawn Maor, Syphax Ramdani, Joey Yu鈥攚on the Astrophysics prize for their project, Star Formation, and were awarded telescopes! A write-up of their experience can be found on the SPACE website:
The students also earned credits towards the new SPACE: Arts and Sciences Certificate by competing and creating a project for the hackathon.
